New location and new facility

Beaks and Bills Bird Rescue has been operating since Feb, 2000. We have taken in well over 5,000 birds since our opening. We rely 100% on volunteers and donations to care for these birds and to find them new homes. We are not out of a residents, we do NOT breed birds and we make sure we have a vigorous adoption application and follow up process to ensure birds are going to great homes. We take birds from all over Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and beyond; then we work with many other rescues, zoos and agencies throughout the year to find them homes with the proper care. We are one of only a dozen or so legitimate bird rescues in Michigan and the need is enormous. We are almost always understaffed and underfunded, but mostly we simply run out of room to accept all the birds, so we turn many away. We have purchased new property and we want to build a new facility on it to house the birds. We want an education room, a vet room, quarantine rooms and better aviaries for the birds, both indoors and outdoors. Many of these birds come to us sick or hurt, so many take extra care to become healthy and happy again. We have started a GoFundMe program to generate the funds needed to build a new facility, to better handle the hundreds of birds we work with each year. You can donate via the link on the top right of the main page. Any amount will help us help the birds!
